Tewkesbury Running Club members were out in force last weekend as they competed in various different races within the local area, despite the preceding very wet weather and local flooding. The Newent Nine road race, Broadway Trail Half and Full Marathon and the Ashton Under Hill 5K road race were the main focus for the TRC athletes.

Stroud Half Marathon 27th October 2019

Runners gladly gathered together on the Cainscross Road on a cold crisp bright clear morning for the 38th running of the ever popular Stroud Half Marathon. With conditions absolutely perfect for endurance running, many runners were fit and ready for a swift performance.

Cardiff Half Marathon 6th October 2019

Cardiff Half Marathon has slowly built itself up to be one of the fastest HM courses in the country over the past decade, so much so that over 20,00 runners finished this years edition. Tewkesbury Running Club had 4 members that were ready for the race.

For the first time in over 10 years, Tewkesbury Running Club sent a team to represent the club in the Midlands Road Relays. Held in the picturesque and ever popular Sutton Park in Sutton Coldfield, some of the very best of the areas athletes amassed for one of the highlights of the road race season. The vibrant city of Worcester was the welcome host to no fewer than 23 Tewkesbury Running Club members who took part in the city’s 10K and Half Marathon races on the 15th September. With slick organisation, great crowd support around the city streets and riverside walks. Vicky Earls travelled back to her native Ireland for the famous and very popular Frank Duffy 10 mile race … this year the race numbered just short of 4000 finishers. Having focussed on the shorter distances this year Vicky was looking forward to enjoying the race … and enjoy Vicky did; although she had to battle the 25 degree heat, the undulating nature of Dublin’s Phoenix Park as well as the demanding distance to record her 1hr 52.51 secs.

Gloucestershire AAA County Championships (part 2)

The late summer county championships this year was held at the Blackbridge athletics track in Gloucester and Tewkesbury Running Club sent a large squad of athletes to test themselves against some of the counties best.
