This year’s popular Christmas charity race over at Evesham attracted some hardy Tewkesbury runners;  the Festive 10km off-road event was held over some very water-logged ground indeed.  Originally called ‘Race for Grace’ to raise funds and then supporting myositis research before the 2019 edition supporting the ‘Children with Cancer UK’ charity.  The venue was again, from Evesham United FC ground and for most runners, it was a festive affair with many donning seasonal fancy dress.

The fabulous Croome Park was the stage for latest event in a great year for the club.  Not only was this the final event in the 'Lord & Lady of the Land' series, but for many it was the curtain for their 2019 races.

This outstanding National Trust gem played host to the popular Croome Capability Canter race; a testing off-road run around the vast grounds of the park. Once again, it was well-organized by Worcester’s Black Pear Joggers and, despite the preceding rain, the course is delightful to ru...

The traditional Guy Fawkes 5 course has fallen victim to the infamous Tewkesbury floods - as of Friday morning, there are still lengthy sections still covered in shin deep dirty flood water.

However, there's always a contingency in place for when this happens and we are very happy to say we have an officially certificated and licenced 5 mile course ready to accomate.

Essentially the same in profile; flat with two motorway crossings.  Several runners have tested the course over the last few weeks,...

This year’s big Cheltenham event appealed to just a fraction of the usual Tewkesbury gathering – only a dozen club runners lined-up on the morning.  Perhaps some had use a crystal ball and didn’t like the look of the unsavoury weather conditions?  Love it or hate it, come rain or shine, the Cheltenham Half Marathon is the biggest race in the county.  Recently, it’s been well organized and the 2019 instalment was a success for the team behind it with quality facilities, plentiful parking and road...

The front of the shirt has the commemorative 'War of the Roses' sculpture of 'the victor' from the famous 'victor and the vanquished' created by Philip Bews and Diane Gorvin.  Their masterpiece is called ‘The Arrivall’ and is taken from the title of an abbreviated account of Edward IV’s recovery of the English throne from Henry VI in 1471. The actual oak sculptures can be found on the south approach to the town.  The Battle of Tewkesbury brought to an end the Wars of the Roses between the house...

A bumper 400+ runners took part in the 2019 edition of the popular AQM. Starting from the Cricket field, the runners headed down towards the River Severn and ran upstream towards Deerhurst, turning again to run downstream before a rather quaint run through the Deerhurst churchyard.  From there, the runners followed a short lane before trekking across the fields before turning towards Apperley with a testing incline and then a spectator friendly finish.

Despite the 'unusual' rain, the atmosphere w...

Tewkesbury Running Club surprised the race organisers in Alderton village by fielding a record number of runners for the annual Alderton 5km;  normally supported by 2 or 3 club runners, this year saw over a dozen colourful athletes keen to tackle the 5km ‘out & back’ country lane course which featured a final couple of hundred yards around the football pitch.

Only arriving minutes before the start, Simon Meadows lead the club back into the village after gaining a lead on the 2017 winner Jon Mansf...

This year’s Cotswold Way Relay will never be forgotten – although some would certainly like to forget it!

Tewkesbury Running Club fielded their two teams with the competitive Kylie Kangaroos aiming to clinch a podium place again after falling to 6th in 2018 and their second team with a more pleasurable ethos and every intention of enjoying every step, snapping a selfie and generally celebrating the beautiful Cotswolds.

Tewkesbury had a fine squad of 25 runners geared-up weeks before but as always,...

Malvern Joggers Chilli 10k.

Malvern’s popular MJ 10km is a fairly challenging 80% off-road race situated on the side of the Malvern Hills from Welland. Always very well organized by the Malvern Joggers club but the 2019 event had to contend with some shocking wet weather, both before and during the race. The marshals easily stood-out with their umbrellas and with a slightly altered course, the runners can be forgiven if they thought they were in an Irish peat bog – yes, a couple of descending fie...

Now one of the most popular 10km runs in the county, the Monday night Berkeley course offers runners the chance to attack their PB’s over Britain’s favourite race distance. The course does indeed past the famous castle however, there isn’t really an incline to slow your pace.

Two Tewkesbury runners sat-out of the previous day’s Tewkesbury half-marathon to keep the corks in their legs: Chris Duckworth had timed a personal best in his last 10km race over the Angels Haresfield course – a much toughe...
