The ever-popular multi-terrain run on the East side of the Malvern Hills saw some exciting competing within the club.
With Alec Vincent and Mark Gardiner leading Tewkesbury back down to Wellend, the drama was a couple of minutes back with Gary Duxbury who repeated his Broadway Tower success by winning the V60 category – it was close between the top three but Gary wasn’t going to be beaten. Jane Sauer finished an excellent 1st V35. For Jane though, she just missed-out on 3rd overall woman. Her timing chip records her just one second off Gary!
Elaine Vincent excelled; rather bizarrely Elaine repeated her Scenic Six antic with a close encounter with the soft pasture. An eye-witness account described it “she was running alongside me one minute and then she just disappeared – I couldn’t see her anywhere?” Nonetheless, she recovered and timed very well.
Carol Cowley was a little unwell while Jude continued his fine form as he switches focus on his Cotswold Way Relay debut.
Chris Duckworth performed well and proved himself, like Jude, to be ready for the Cotswold trail.
John Tharme (I think) and Phillip Howells came through just outside the hour. Phillip, of course, enjoying his ‘local event’.
