Wellend was the venue for the Malvern Joggers chilli run and it ended well for Tewkesbury. Surprisingly only a handful of runners made the short Wednesday evening trip to the Castlemorton Common start line. However, the headlines start with Shona Crombie-Hicks emphatic first place in the women’s category. Shona was in the mood to impress after overhearing a potential challenger claim that she would be breaking Shona’s course record!
With James Head leading the Tewkesbury colours over the West side of the Malvern Hills with a respectable top 10 finish, a stream of strong performances from Tewkesbury followed; Gary Duxbury claiming his second V60 category after the previous Wednesday’s Broadway Tower race while Chris Duckworth improved over the testing course.
Noel Green finished comfortably as he reaps the benefits of some quality training session.
Jude Rodrigues cut the hour mark. Suzanne Tharme and Jon Mansfield made the run an important step towards improved fitness ahead of the Cotswold Way Relay.
