After an taking interest in an email sent out by Club Captain Roy Northcott and having completed the C25K earlier in the year; Bridget Redding from the Jolly Joggers, liked the sound of a new local race - a 5K "potentially flat" trail race over Berrow Hill in Worcestershire.

Bridgett was throughly looking forward to the views and the promised cake at the end of the race. She also managed to persuaded an additional 8 of her fellow club members to join her, into their first venture into trail...

The traditional Guy Fawkes 5 course has fallen victim to the infamous Tewkesbury floods - as of Friday morning, there are still lengthy sections still covered in shin deep dirty flood water.

However, there's always a contingency in place for when this happens and we are very happy to say we have an officially certificated and licenced 5 mile course ready to accomate.

Essentially the same in profile; flat with two motorway crossings.  Several runners have tested the course over the last few weeks,...

With over 60 miles of trails winding through rugged and demanding parklands and woodland - it’s no surprise that Land Rover use Eastnor Castle grounds to test their vehicles through the wildest of terrain.

With this in mind, the Relish Running 10K event would be only for the toughest! The course picked the muddiest trails the estate has to offer with natural obstacles and fallen trees to navigate; gullies to cross; hills to climb and of course - lots of mud to roll in!

Tewkesbury sent 6 of the plu...

Along with he 14 club runners, a total of 23 people enjoyed the long weekend break in Krakow - enjoying the unseasonably warm weather that follows TRC on all their abroad races! The group found Krakow a beautiful city and the food and drink proved to be amazingly cheap.

As usual, everyone couldn’t resist using too...

Race 1 - Wotton Under Edge

Great performances all round from Tewkesbury RC including a very impressive XC debut from Owen Grant. Despite taking part in his first XC race since school, Owen not only smashed the competition but smashed the muddy course with ease!

Finishing in the top 15 in a time of 33:57 was simply outstanding. That sort of time for a 9km road race would be amazing but to do it on a course strewn with mud and monster puddles was exceptional!

Welcome to cross country Owen!

A very early wet 6:30 start to get to the park and ride before heading into Oxford and my start pen. The first 4 miles I kept my pace although the streets were very narrow and you had to contend with a lot of congestion from other runners. The weather was certainly damp with rain from start to finish and some huge puddles. I continued my 10 to 10:30 minute pace ensuring I kept site of the 2:20 pacer but the final 3 miles were tough and I dropped back.
I was not disappointed with my time though a...

This year’s big Cheltenham event appealed to just a fraction of the usual Tewkesbury gathering – only a dozen club runners lined-up on the morning.  Perhaps some had use a crystal ball and didn’t like the look of the unsavoury weather conditions?  Love it or hate it, come rain or shine, the Cheltenham Half Marathon is the biggest race in the county.  Recently, it’s been well organized and the 2019 instalment was a success for the team behind it with quality facilities, plentiful parking and road...
