London Looking Spry

Kerri Spry had a London trip to remember when she took part in the Royal Parks Half Marathon. Instead of lying back and enjoying the great sights from an open-top bus, Kerri joined thousands of other runners and raced through the famous Hyde Park, Green Park, St James’s Park and Kensington Gardens. Although she was collecting for the Scope charity, she had no charity for the 10,039 other runners she beat to the finish. Her finish time of 1:53 hr placed her 4,708th in the event which had 16,000 entrants. Recording her best 1/2m time by 6 minutes, the on-lookers from Buckingham Palace would have had to been quick to wave her by.

Park life for Kerri.

Racing in the Mudrunner Classic over at Eastnor Castle, Sam Connolly admits it was the hardest race he’s ever done. Finishing in a creditable 1:36 hr for 401st place, Sam will no doubt be looking forward to the ease of his next race – the Guy Fawkes Five.

Sam making a splash.

Stuart and Cathy Dudfield had the pleasure of the Palma Half Marathon. Racing in Mallorca for the second year running, the pair both had fine results with Cathy cutting under two hours with 1:59 for 1,478th place while Stuart placed inside the first 500 from the 3,000 starters in 429th. His time of 1:42 sets himself nicely to attack a season’s best in this weekend’s Stroud Half…

Duddies shine in Palma.

In Stratford AC’s Welcombe Wobbler, Natalie Jenks and Kerri Spry went off-road and up & down one of the few hills around Stratford-upon-Avon. Over a testing 10km course Natalie pressured the lead women with a 44:30 minute performance – she claimed 5th spot however, 3rd & 4th places were in sight and had it not been for Nat’s groin tweaking, she would kicked those two aside. Kerri ran well too; having a good Half Marathon under her belt, she was able to time 53:28 for 23rd girl and an impressive 89th overall.

Hill test for the girls.
