Manchester Marathon

Three club members took part in the 40th Manchester marathon on Sunday 10th April with rewarding performances:

Lovely sunny day with only a breeze for most of it if a cold start (surprise frost on windscreens early on), venue at Lancashire Cricket Club in the Trafford area and interesting course around urban Greater Manchester, never boring and pretty flat, several sections with competitors going both ways to help you see your club mates and other running buddies. Satisfied with times all round, Angie ran very strong as ever to win yet another age category in a major race. Stuart hoping for nearer 3.30 but still a strong run, and the fastest time for Phillip for over 2 years and post back-op. Well worth the 3am getting up and 300 miles round trip!
