Chedworth Roman Trail
In the Chedworth Roman Trail race, four TRC athletes and one dog took part.
Cathy Dudfield managed to recover from an unexpected hill within the first mile to reel in her familiar club rival Karen Maber. Karen had stretched a good gap after the first 20 minutes only for Cathy turn up the tempo and overtake around the 6 mile mark. The course is 10 miles and features a defining 275 feet climb through woods and for Cathy to finish in 1:33 hr is impressive.
Karen followed 2.30 minutes later. Teresa Roberts ran as Canicross and had been training well locally but the hot spring weather really affected Goldie and after an enthusiastic first 4 miles he was pulled-up.
Jay Russell completed the run in 1:26 hr although he experienced a hip niggle.
Tewkesbury’s lead runner was Mark Parker. Also carrying a niggle, he managed a top 30 placing with 1:14
