Worcester 1/2m & Marathon

After having to pull-out of this year’s London Marathon just days before the start, Fran Osborne ‘quietly’ ran in the Worcester Marathon instead. The Worcester course is demanding in the way it seems to be a relentless series of ups and downs – not necessarily climbing hills as such but more tracking across bridges and meagre hillocks. The weather was the billed as the hottest day of the year to date and Fran was really put to the test. Her race plan was to keep hydrated as much as possible and that’s what she did. She crossed the finish line in a successful 4:12 hrs. That placed her 4th in the FV45 category and 127th overall.

Carol Cowley and Jon Mansfield ran in the ½ Marathon and were both victorious in their respective age categories with Carol placing 189th with 1:50 hr and Jon 8th with 1:24 hr.
