Tewkesbury marathoners Angie Sadler and Phillip Howells completed their latest marathons at the well-established and popular Wolverhampton marathon during the first September weekend.
From a field of 214 finishers covering the 2 lap course over a mixture of local streets, parkland, footpaths and canal paths, Angie continued her run of season good form with another outstanding time of 3hrs 34mins 17seconds. This gave her 50th place overall, 4th lady and 1st FV55+. It was her 165th marathon finish.
Completing his 232nd marathon and his 8th at Wolverhampton, and grateful to be running again after recent illness and still recovering from a painful fall a few weeks earlier when racing on Snowdon, Phillip tackled the race at a much more sedate pace to finish in a satisfying 5hrs 46mins 41seconds. He finished 206th place overall and 3rd MV70+
