Dave McNamee Memorial 10K &...

This year’s Dave McNamee Memorial 10K race relocated to the flatlands of Boddington, and 3 Tewkesbury Running Club Members lined up for the near 3 lap circuit.

Alan Whitby has not long been a member of TRC, but is already beginning to make a name for himself on the local road race circuit. Alan ran a measured race as he aimed for his first sub 40 minute 10K clocking and after a slightly faster 1st mile, Alan’s pacing produced and an outstanding time of 39 mins 49secs to land 11th position.

Alan’s time not only earned him 1st V60 prize, but he also broke the Tewkesbury Running Club’s long standing V60 record by just over 2 minutes; a record that had stood for nearly 20 years to the day.

Simon Crilley has been suffering with a few niggles recently but still landed himself with the top 20 position with a time of 41.24 in 18th place. Tewkesbury Running Club’s 2nd prize winner came in 100th place as Mike Ward scooped the V70 prize in a time of 76mins and 6secs.

Jon Mansfield returned to the scene of his 3 previous victories and lined up for this year's Bredon Bash fell race on the 20th June. Starting from Elmley Castle cricket ground, the route clambers up Bredon Hill for a circuit around the Bredon Tower and retraces its steps back to the start. Jon finished in 6th and as much as 6 minutes off his best time however, he did return with the V50 prize.

James Head travelled to Worcester on the 20th for an Open Meeting and the Nunnery Wood track and posted a 3000m time of 10mins 40.00secs.

Shona Crombie-Hicks comfortable defended her title at the Kingham 10K on the 22nd and won her 4th Kingham 10k in a time of 40mins 50secs.

Simon Meadows represented Tewkesbury Running Club in the Pilot 5K in Gloucester on the 26th and clocked a 18mins 47secs time and was happy to get his 1st ‘Top 3’ in an open road race in 3rd.
